Popularly known as “Honey Boo Boo,” Mama June’s daughter Alana Thompson is embracing her new identity as an adult, but fans are a little concerned about her choice of boyfriend.

Years have passed quickly since the world first saw reality TV star Alana Thompson, affectionately known as Honey Boo Boo. These days, the 16-year-old is quickly loosening his old ties and kissing new ones.

Mama June’s youngest daughter is without a doubt a fan favorite little wonder. Her choice of a boyfriend sparked reactions from fans after learning who she was secretly dating.

Reports have revealed that Thompson was dating 20-year-old college student Dralin Carswell and she appears to be attached to him as they’ve been together for six months.

Before the pandemic, the student attended a technical school in Nashville but now lives in Georgia near Thompson and her 21-year-old sister Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon, who is also her legal guardian.

Lovebirds are said to spend a lot of time together and seem unwilling to calm things down. Additionally, Thompson’s older sisters Jessica, 24, and Anna, 27, endorse her new boyfriend, leaving fans in disgust.

Reports have revealed that Carswell was initially calm with the family, but over time he became popular with Thompson’s sisters, who learned to love him and admire his sense of humor.

Some social media users have expressed their disgust that the teenage reality TV star was allowed to date a much older man and, surprisingly, with permission from his older sisters.

Reports suggest that the relationship between Thompson and Carswell does not violate any legal laws.

One irritated fan called the relationship bad while a second user replied, “What does a 16-year-old have in common with a 20-year-old.” a third fan added: “he is completely wrong”.

Thompson and her boyfriend quietly announced their relationship in March via a subtle Facebook update. On her private Facebook page, the teenage star shared a photo of them.

Thompson recently appeared on the recent issue of Teen Vogue and spoke about her life and the issues surrounding her mother’s drug issues and how it affected their family.

Additionally, she explained how her fame keeps her from connecting with her peers, leaving her boyfriend as the only one she truly considers a friend.

Reports suggest that the relationship between Thompson and Carswell does not violate any legal laws. In Georgia, where they live, the legal age for consenting sex is 16.

Thompson also intends to perform better academically, as she hopes to separate her reality TV character Honey Boo Boo from herself, adding that they are two different people.
