Media visionary Dave Mays launches hip-hop podcast network


Breakbeat rolls out a roster of shows featuring emerging talent and veteran voices, each designed to tap into the unique sensibilities of the multigenerational hip-hop community:

  • The Don’t call me white girl the show features rising comedian and viral social media sensation Don’t Call Me White Girl. The gritty Philadelphia cream native doesn’t hold her tongue as she delivers her unique brand of ideas, advice and commentary in this highly entertaining weekly audiovisual podcast. (First Tuesday, September 28, 2021)
  • Co-founder of Darling magazine, media veteran and cultural critic Kierna mayo hosts Culturati: Conversations with Kierna mayo, a colorful sound world where black women from generation X to generation Z – despite “candle and ratchet” – are the official flag bearers. Culture explores current cultural topics, from sociopolitics to unsafe work, through engaging conversations with a range of important and fascinating thought leaders, activists and famous artists, guided by a hip-hop generation, the dope AF Black feminist. Culture is a bi-weekly audio podcast produced in partnership with PRX. (First Tuesday, October 5, 2021)
  • The Wrap It Up Show with Funny Marco is a weekly audiovisual podcast hosted by Instagram star and sketch comedian Funny Marco, who has independently built an audience of over 10 million fans on his social platforms. Marco brings his comedic talent to the world of podcasting, interviewing and interacting with notables from the music and entertainment scene in the hip-hop capital of Atlanta. (First October 2021)
