A new line of ready-to-drink honey-based craft cocktails called Spirited Hive is set to launch in February 2022.
Spirited Hive is made with what is described as quality spirits, all-natural ingredients and organic honey. Retailers in Nashville and New York will be the first to carry the line, and it will be available for pre-sale online at SpiritedHive.com.
Jack Espy, founder of Spirited Hive, started the company while in graduate school at New York University during the COVID-19 pandemic after spending many late nights making cocktails for friends.
Espy has always joked with his friends that he should can his cocktails to avoid tedious cleanup. His signature cocktail – a Moscow Mule made with honey and mint – inspired the company’s name.
Spirited Hive sources its 100% certified organic wildflower honey from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
“Spirited Hive is a drink that brings the whole hive together, making it even sweeter with a little honey,” Espy said in a prepared statement. “I made a career change from what was going to be a more corporate lifestyle to something I was passionate about. Quarantine really changed my life and set me on a new path. I moved from finance real estate to the creation of my own cocktail company; you speak of a 180!
Spirited Hive cocktails are sold in packs of 4 for a suggested retail price of $16.99. They come in three different flavor combinations, Rosemary, Lemon & Honey Infused Bourbon Whiskey, Ginger, Lime & Honey Infused Tequila, and Cranberry, Lime & Honey Infused Vodka.
Rosemary, Lemon and Honey Infused Bourbon Whiskey is 7% ABV and uses bourbon sourced from Green River Distilling Co., in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The ginger, lime and honey infused tequila is also 7% ABV and is made from a Tequila Blanco sourced from Jalisco, Mexico, where Casamigos is from.
The vodka infused with cranberry, lime and honey is 7% ABV and its vodka is sourced from St. Louis, Missouri, and follows the same distillation process as Tito’s craft vodka.
